Oh No They Didn't! - Cameron Diaz signs to write health and ...

It's all part of the celebrity grand tour these days: In addition to your movie/TV/music/modeling careers, you can write books. And people will buy them.

Which explains why HarperCollins announced today it will publish Cameron Diaz's forthcoming but still untitled book on health, wellness and lifestyle, scheduled for fall 2013.

Karen Rinaldi, a senior vice president with HC, promised that Diaz will offer inspiration for young women by writing about fitness, nutrition and well-being. Diaz, 40, a strikingly beautiful blond movie star, always looks in blooming health.

"Diaz aims to engage and empower women and girls by showing them that with the right knowledge about their bodies, they can live happier, healthier, stronger and better," Rinaldi said.

Why do readers turn to celebs for advice? Well, look at them. Pippa Middleton's Penguin book on party planning, due in October, is highly anticipated because she's ... well, Pippa Middleton, party girl, princess of the paparazzi and sister to a future queen.

Same goes for Diaz, star of such films as There's Something About Mary and Charlie's Angels, who could prove just as popular as actress Gwyneth Paltrow in the lifestyle advice-giving category.

Besides, Diaz has a couple of new films coming out soon, including Gambit, opposite Oscar winner Colin Firth, and Ridley Scott's ensemble drama, The Counselor, due in 2013.
