Arizona Presidential Preference Primary Voter Guide (ContributorNetwork)

The Arizona presidential preference primary will be held Feb. 28. Voters will have an opportunity to select their choice for the Republican candidate they feel will best represent the Republican Party in the November general election against incumbent Barack Obama.

Here's a voter guide for the Arizona primary for those who want to participate in part of the electoral process for president.

Candidates

There are 23 candidates on the ballot. Those choices include Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Rep. Ron Paul. Texas Gov. Rick Perry is also on the ballot despite dropping out earlier this year. There are 11 candidates from Arizona on the ballot.

Polling Places

Voters can locate their polling places on the Arizona Secretary of State's website. You need to be registered to vote for the database to register your polling place. The deadline for registering for this election was Jan 30.

What to Bring

When you show up at your polling place, you will need to bring a form of identification. The identification must have the voter's name, address and photograph. Otherwise, an Arizona voter will need to bring two forms of ID that have the name and address together. Voters can bring a photo identification with a matching form of ID that has the current address on it.

Valid forms of identification to bring include an Arizona driver's license, a state-issued identification card or a federal government issued ID card. If you don't have a photo identification with a current address then there are other options.

If you don't have a photo ID with a current address, voters must bring two items that have a current address dated within the past 90 days. Utility bills, bank statements, vehicle registration and an automobile insurance card are some of the things can be brought to polling places.

Voting

Early voting in Arizona began Feb. 2. Polling places on the day of the primary are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. MST. Arizona has around 1.1 million registered Republicans who can participate.
